The case for carrying less
Most wallets are full of things nobody has used in a year. A practical reset, and how to pack a slim wallet properly.
A slim wallet isn't a style choice so much as a forced audit.
Empty it on the table
Everything out. Then put back only what you've used in the last month. For most people that's a license, two cards, and some cash.
The things that never go back in
Punch cards for places that closed. Insurance cards you'd photograph anyway. A third credit card you keep for an emergency that has a better home in a drawer. Receipts.
What to digitize
Insurance, membership numbers, loyalty barcodes, emergency contacts. A photo in your phone beats a fold of paper in every case.
How to pack a slim wallet
Most-used card in the outermost pocket so it comes out by feel. Cash folded once, not stacked. Leave one slot empty — it's what makes daily use pleasant instead of a fight.
